Beginner Irish Session

This session is geared primarily to beginners, and is very similar to the session that we used to hold at the church in Somerville. Ellery Klein is leading it. Note that the suggested donation is $20, but Ellery says to feel free to chip in whatever you can, even if it is only a few dollars. Please register on the Power's website.

This webpage has links to the tunes. Currently, there are a dozen. But the session is open to any tunes as long as at least a few people know them.

Join Powers instructor Ellery Klein each month for these fun traditional Irish music sessions! Irish music learners of all abilities are encouraged to come one Thursday a month to learn some tunes and play together.
Each hour-long gathering will start with a slow rendition of the “tune of the month,”. For the rest of the session, we’ll play Irish tunes at a learner-friendly pace.
Sessions will be held at 7:00 each month at Powers unless otherwise noted. Check the website for upcoming session dates, and feel free to just show up! RSVPs are encouraged so we can let you know about any changes to the schedule. You can sign up for as many sessions as you like! To keep this program running, we ask for a suggested donation of $20 at the door.
This will be Cabot Room, up the stairs under the purple awning with our logo, at 160 Lexington Street, Belmont, MA 02478 at 7:30. Parking is available in front of the building or the lot on the corner of Lexington and Beech Street.
