Afterwards: We'll head to a local bar to chat!
6 attendees"The Rocky Horror Picture Show" on Halloween!
Somerville Theatre, 55 Davis Square, Somerville, MA, USIt's the 50th anniversary of the iconic movie "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", and there's no better place and time to see it than at Somerville Theater on Halloween night!
RHPS is more than just a film screening: it's a raucous event with live actors mirroring the onscreen characters, audience members shouting out jokes, and everybody crowding into the aisles to dance "The Time Warp." (Don't worry; Dr. Scott explains the steps). In short: you've never really seen Rocky Horror until you've seen it in a theater with a live cast and an enthusiastic audience. Because it's Halloween night, many attendees will be in costumes (both RHPS-inspired and unrelated), but they are completely optional.
Description from the Somerville Theater website: "A morally upright couple turn to Dr. Frank-N-Furter for help when their car breaks down outside his home, but soon they become guests at the most bizarre party imaginable."
This screening will likely sell out. Link to pre-order tickets, which are $20:
https://www.somervilletheatre.com/production/the-rocky-horror-picture-show-in-35mm-with-live-shadowcast/Please plan to arrive by 8:30 PM for the 9:00 PM show. We'll meet up in the lobby, in the area between the Main Theater doors. Look for me (Branden); my picture is shown under "Organizers" and I'll be wearing a white lab coat ala hapless protagonist Brad Majors.
After the movie, everyone is welcome to join us at a local bar for drinks and to share your thoughts!
