THE TRAUMA BOND WORKSHOP: WHY BETRAYAL BONDS HAPPEN AND HOW TO BREAK FREE
Our Pop Up workshop will address Trauma Bonds - what they are, why they occur and how to recognize and break free from them. This is one of the trickiest things about narcissistic relationships and why it's so hard to walk away from them, but we're here to guide you through the process and provide validation for what you are experiencing when you are trapped in a traumatic bond.
Trauma bonding is difficult to understand because it involves a complex cycle of abuse where the victim experiences alternating periods of positive reinforcement (affection, kindness) with negative reinforcement (criticism, manipulation), creating a powerful emotional attachment to the abuser, even when they recognize the abuse, making it hard to leave the relationship due to the hope for the "good" periods to return; essentially, the brain becomes addicted to these intermittent rewards, even if they are unhealthy.
In this workshop we will discuss:
* the clear definition of trauma bonding
* key signs of trauma bonding (gaslighting, manipulation, etc.)
* the characteristics of people who are particularly susceptible to trauma bonding and why
* the stages of trauma bonding
* ways to stop trauma bonding before it occurs
* strategies to overcome trauma bonding once you are in a betrayal bond
* healthy coping and self care for the person getting out of a trauma bond
Join us on June 18th from 12 - 2 pm EST to discuss this in depth using education strategies and exercises to overcome traumatic bonding.
You do NOT have to be an established member to attend. Educational material will be provided upon request to any attendee post-workshop.
Zoom Links will be sent the morning of the workshop to everyone's Private Messages and emails
