Song Circle SPECIAL 2nd Wednesday NIght Event

I invite you to come to a special workshop style presentation featuring Mike Connolly for the first half of the event. Mike is well known in the local jam musician scene. He was a professional musician for more than 20 years, and has been helping local groups in this area for decades.
If you've been to a Song Circle Meetup when MIke attended, I don't need to tell you about his expertise and willingness to help other musicians by showing them the "lick" or the "lead." He's also great at establishing iconic strum patterns so the group can all be playing with the same vision. For the workshop portion, Mike will work us through a few songs. For the 2nd half of the event, I'll be leading the jam session portion with Mike providing the embellishments. We welcom singers and players of acoustic instruments such as guitar, ukulele, violin, mandolin, etc. ALSO, bring your harmonicas, flutes, washboards, beat-box, etc. No need to bring paper copies of songs; chords and lyrics will be displayed on a big screen TV.
Door charge is $10. Our host, Tom Abrassart, will be collecting.

We begin at 7 PM. Please arrive a few minutes early as a courtesy to all singers/players to allow time for greetings, set up & tuning and prevent any awkward disruption of a late arrival during our play. We meet inside.
A “CASH ONLY” BAR is operating on the premises. No water bottles may be brought in. This is a non-smoking venue! However, there is a smoking space available outside.
To join us, you should:

1. Come ready to participate.
2. Be open to most kinds of music
3. Players, have a guitar and capo, or other acceptable instrument. and….
4. Please be able to play basic chords, e.g. A, Am, C, D, E, Em F, G and have a basic understanding of song structure.
5. Show appreciation and encouragement for others' efforts

The goal of this Meetup is to be a place where you can:

1. Learn some new stuff on the guitar!
2. Play and sing with other guitarists and musicians
3. Make new friends
4. Share songs you like, or wrote, and show us how to play them
5. Learn new songs and expand your repertoire
6. Share playing tips with others.
7. Appreciate and encourage fellow players
8. Gain confidence in your playing/singing
