## Who We're Looking For
Song Foundry welcomes anyone who treats songwriting as both a craft and a calling. You might be an experienced writer with a full catalog, or a new voice stepping out with your first ideas. What matters most is your intention to create something real: to wrestle with emotion and story, and to build songs that matter.
We're a community of original songwriters who support each other both in the workshop and on stage. If you're passionate about writing your own songs and ready to be vulnerable in your art, you'll find your people here.
## The Problem We Solve
Songwriting can be isolating. Too many musicians find themselves stuck in creative ruts, craving real feedback, or navigating shallow scenes filled with cover songs and projects that lack emotional depth. Song Foundry breaks that isolation by connecting songwriters across experience levels through mentorship and meaningful musical connections.
## Our Philosophy: Building, Not Just Performing
At Song Foundry, we celebrate the entire creative process. Songs are welcomed at every stage: half-finished lyrics, rough voice memos, raw demos, or polished pieces. We believe the craft matters as much as the performance.
This is a workshop first. Every song is a work-in-progress, and every songwriter is both creator and collaborator. Our mission is to give people the courage to share their work and perform live, while never losing sight that it's about the creative journey and mutual support.
## Our Gatherings
Workshops are hands-on, collaborative sessions for works-in-progress. Bring unfinished songs, lyric fragments, or anything you're struggling with. The atmosphere is generous, solution-oriented, and all about unlocking creative momentum.
Song Shares are intimate sessions for sharing completed songs, whether new or revisited material. These aren't competitions or critique sessions unless feedback is specifically requested. The goal is simply to be heard and to witness each other's creative work.
Live Performance opportunities extend beyond our workshops. Members support each other at local open mics, and we organize our own showcases and creative performance events.

## The Founder's Vision
Song Foundry was created by AJ Solaris, a songwriter, producer, and performer with over a decade of experience writing, recording, and performing original music. Through multiple albums and live performances with projects like M4TR and Arkolyte, AJ founded Song Foundry to create the supportive, mentorship-focused environment he wished existed for developing songwriters.
