With Guest Speaker Jimi Yamagishi on Getting Your Music Heard in Southern California

On Saturday June 29th at 6:30 PM, Songsalive! continues their monthly songwriter’s workshop series with guest speaker Jimi Yamagishi. As the current director of the SongNet, Jimi brings over three decades of life in this industry to the table, helping other songwriters make those crucial connections between the industry & the community. Jimi's background as a luthier & tech brought him into the studios, greenrooms & backstages of artists like Gerry Beckley (America),The Go-Gos, Earth Wind & Fire, Stacey Q, & many others where he saw firsthand how deals were made & broken.

Jimi’s topic: How to get your music heard in Southern California. Whether you write songs for others, or perform your own material, the fact is that Southern California is a nerve center of the music industry -- and as such, the competition can be fierce. How to you make what you do stand out enough that the people you need to take notice, do?

START TIME: Starts 6:30 pm sharp. Ends at 9:30 pm

Are you a songwriter willing to take your songs to the next level? Workshop your songs to be the best they can be, and get them out to the world. Hosted by Rik Lawrence, of Songsalive!, the largest global songwriters squad, the Songsalive! Workshops are open to all songwriters, composers, lyricists and musicians. First half song critique. Second half industry session, with invaluable guest speakers from the music business. Come ready with your songs for feedback and create long lasting relationships in the songwriting community.

Goals of our Workshops: 1) the SONG and making it the best it can be. 2) providing a community for our members to gather, network, collaborate and learn. Come prepared for song critique (see below)

COST: Free for Songsalive! PRO Members and $10 for everyone else*.
