Practical Music Theory for Songwriters

Ever wonder what music theory is and how it can help you learn and apply new concepts to your songwriting? Ever come across a chord symbol that left you scratching your head? This workshop is for you! Bring your guitar, ukulele, (etc.) or use our keyboard, and learn music theory that is practical and helps your songs! I will contact you roughly a week ahead of the course to ask you if you have any questions so that I can do my best to cater the workshop to those attending.

Some potential topics to be covered are: simple chord substitutions, how to change the key of your song, how to experiment with chords.

This course is recommended for those who have the ability to play a handful of chords on an instrument. This is not an advanced theory course (Though please let us know if that is something you would like). Bring your instrument, a pencil, and paper for notes.
