Using AI for Songwriting (Ethically) – Suno Edition
Details
Are you curious about AI in music? Feeling threatened by its implications? Or wondering if it's really as powerful (and scary) as people claim?
Come find out!
Last month went so well, we are going to do it again. If you were at that event, please allow others to attend this month. We will move on to other tools in the near future, but for now, there were many people who couldn't attend last month. Let's give everyone a chance.
As before, we will be exploring Suno, one of the leading AI music tools. We'll start by creating a brand-new song from pure text prompts to demonstrate just how easy it can be to generate music—and why ethical use matters.
Then we'll shift to responsible, creative applications: using AI to enhance music you've already created as a human artist, adding polish while preserving real creativity and taste.
By the end, you'll be familiar with Suno and have a clear understanding of how you can use it to make your already-good songs sound even better.
Requirements to attend: Submit a scratch recording of a song you wrote (guitar + vocals is perfect—no need for anything fancy), plus a digital copy of the lyrics. Anyone who has not submitted them by Monday, March 2nd will have their RSVP canceled to make room for someone else.
Please email recording and lyrics to **Griffin@songwritersinseattle.com**
I promise I will not share them with anyone, inside or outside of this group, without prior notice and express permission. They are YOUR songs.
NOTE: The song must be 100% original and wholly owned by you.
What we'll do:
- Start with a quick tour of the Suno platform.
- Upload each participant's song and have Suno generate "cover" versions (we'll define the musical style and vocalist gender/characteristics).
- Suno will produce two versions of each track—we'll listen and discuss them as a group.
- Once we've gone through everyone's initial songs, I'll select one to take further: we'll extract stems in Suno Studio and apply a few targeted enhancements to polish it.
If this sounds exciting, sign up soon! To give everyone enough time to participate and get feedback, I'm limiting this event to just 5 attendees (besides me).
Looking forward to creating with you!
