Apparently our initial location is so popular the entire restaurant has been rented out by a private party (the first time in 5 years this has happened so ,,,,, 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️). Anyway, not to fear ,,,we'll still be "palace adjacent" across the street at GOODE CO. BBQ. I'll leave our original event description in place below for posterity and the "reading pleasure" of our foodie faithful 😊).

Hey Everyone,

So those familiar with Austin, and Texas, may know that our state capital boasts the Armadillo World Headquarters - an iconic concert venue that played an instrumental 😉 role in the start of Austin's "cowboy hippie" cultural several years ago (think Willie Nelson).

But, IMHHO (my humble "Houstonian" opinion) while Austin may have an armadillo "headquarters" - that's nothing compared to Houston's ARMADILLO PALACE !!! The PALACE includes one dance hall, two bars, three stages and a state-of-the-art kitchen.

In their own words - "From live Texas tunes to live-fire barbecue pits, we pride ourselves on going beyond the whole hog. That’s why you’ll find perfectly seared ribeye next to mesquite-smoked redfish, rotisseried cabrito, and veggies lucky enough to be fried in duck fat. And if you’d like a splash of something different before dancing, our specialty cocktails should do the trick."

Add to this the fact that the upcoming weekend (March 7th/8th) is the first official weekend for the Houston Rodeo (our meetup group is going on Saturday March 7th) and "dining at the palace" is the perfect midweek event to help us get ready to check out Rodeo Houston !
