Resilience testing

Details

One thing that never ceases to amaze me about Salamanders is that when a limb is cut off, they can regenerate this complex structure, scar-free, how incredible is that! If only my applications would be this smart...

Running our applications in the cloud has enabled us to co-op/recover from a lot of issues such as hardware failure, networking issues, load spikes etc. . We can basically “regenerate” our complete application landscape, like salamanders.
With proper monitoring and well thought out failure scenarios, it is possible to make our applications detect failures and recover before end users will be impacted.

During this MeetUp we will look into what is needed to make our application more resilient. We will learn how we can test the resilience of our application, how to improve on our outcomes and experience the benefits.

In this workshop you will learn:
· How to monitor your application with “Grafana” and visualize errors
· How to run a load test with “JMeter”
· How to test resilience with the help of “Chaos Mesh”
· What changes you can make to your application to become more resilient
· Real life cases where resilience terribly failed
