Henry Cowell Garden of Eden to Big Rock Hole River Crossing

Splish-splash, I was taking a bath... Great time of year to temporarily disappear into the majestic Henry Cowell forest and cool off with a San Lorenzo River crossing.

Our route will be River Trail>Garden of Eden>River Trail>Rincon>Big Rock Hole>Buckeye>3 river crossings (1 wading and wide, 2 with stepping stones and narrower. All 3 delightful!) >Rincon>Diversion Dam>Rincon>back onto Big Rock Hole>River Trail>and home

Those who want to join the hike but do not want to cross the river can use their own copy of our route and backtrack along Buckeye to Big Rock Hole to Rincon and meet up with us along Diversion Dam.

Length: 9.15 miles Elevation gain: 1811 feet
Level of difficulty: challenging (mileage, elevation gain, river crossing)
Hiking Time: 4-5 hours

Bring water (1-2 liters), snacks, tick/poison oak protection, hiking shoes with good tread, poles and water shoes if you're crossing the river, any anticipated first aid needs and your love for adventure!

There is a $10 State Park Entrance Fee if you do not have a State Park Pass.

There are bathrooms available at our parking area.

Dogs are not allowed on the state park trails
