3/22 Special Guest Andrew Harrod grew up in Austin and spent a good part of his childhood exploring and enjoying its creeks. A large amount of time spent in parks led him to eventually get a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences. Andrew joined the Capital Area Master Naturalists in 2019 and loves doing outreach things like talking at the library about amphibians and plants.
During the pandemic he fell hard for native plants, continues to study them, and leads plant walks whenever he gets a chance. Andrew is a natural educator. After teaching for many years, he later became a classroom presenter for Texas Wildlife Association. He has experience managing volunteers on the Austin Wildland preserves and is currently working with volunteers to grow scouting in Round Rock..
