L'appuntamento è fissato, presso la affascinante Centrale Montemartini, il suggestivo spazio espositivo che trasforma una ex centrale termoelettrica in un dialogo straordinario tra antichità e modernità.
Potrai ammirare la celebre collezione di sculture classiche immerse tra le maestose macchine industriali del primo Novecento. Statuette greche, busti imperiali e mosaici romani si fondono con turbine e caldaie arrugginite, creando un contrasto mozzafiato che racconta l'evoluzione di Roma dal mito all'era industriale.
➡️ Ma l'avventura non termina qui! Se avremmo ancora tempo, il tour proseguirà verso la maestosa Basilica di San Paolo fuori le Mura, uno dei quattro Patriarchi di Roma. Qui, tra le navate gotiche e i mosaici bizantini, scoprirai il cuore della cristianità romana: il sepolcro dell'Apostolo delle Genti, le porte bronzee del XIII secolo e l'atmosfera serena del chiostro medievale. Una passeggiata di circa 20 minuti ci condurrà in questo santuario UNESCO, dove il passato pagano incontra la spiritualità cristiana in un'armonia perfetta.

➡️ Join us for a unique and immersive experience in the ancient history of Rome, on the occasion of the National Free Museum Day, promoted by the Ministry of Culture. The event is scheduled at the fascinating Centrale Montemartini, a suggestive exhibition space that transforms a former thermoelectric plant into an extraordinary dialogue between antiquity and modernity.
You will admire the renowned collection of classical sculptures set among the majestic industrial machinery of the early 20th century. Greek statuettes, imperial busts, and Roman mosaics blend with rusted turbines and boilers, creating a breathtaking contrast that narrates Rome’s evolution from myth to the industrial era.

➡️ But the adventure doesn’t end here! If time permits, the tour will continue to the majestic Basilica of San Paolo fuori le Mura, one of Rome’s four Patriarchal Basilicas.
Here, among Gothic naves and Byzantine mosaics, you will discover the heart of Roman Christianity: the tomb of the Apostle to the Gentiles, the 13th-century bronze doors, and the serene atmosphere of the medieval cloister. A roughly 20-minute walk will lead us to this UNESCO sanctuary, where the pagan past meets Christian spirituality in perfect harmony.
