Lomi Lomi is the ancient Hawaiian practice of massage/bodywork. This practice is deeply rooted in Spirituality and ultimately aims to guide, both the practitioner and recipient, into proper alignment of the body, mind, and spirit. Lomi Lomi focuses on the root cause of our ailments while giving attention to spiritual connection.
In this two-day workshop we will explore the philosophy of Lomi Lomi, systems of health and alignment, how to read and troubleshoot the body, and specific techniques of treatment. With a great emphasis on 'reading' the body and exemplifying the emotional map of the body.
This workshop is offered to all. It's an introduction for professional massage therapists who'd like to expand their practice, non-professionals who'd like to incorporate these skills into their lifestyle, and any type of healer or family member who is interested in learning more to help themselves and others.
What will we cover?
- Philosophy and brief history
- Connecting to intuition
- Body mapping/anatomy
- Opu (belly) work and organ palpation
- Techniques
- Dietary support and simple intestinal flushes
Upon completion of the weekend workshop, you will have a deeper understanding of Hawaiian culture and philosophy, self-alignment to Spirit, how to read ailments of the body, how to aid others along their physical, emotional, and spiritual journey.

About the Instructor
Born in Silicon Valley to Japanese and Chinese ancestry, Mike was influenced by his Hawaiian-Japanese father's culture and his entrepreneurial Chinese mother's family. In 2011, Mike earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Santa Clara University. His discovery of massage therapy came soon after, sparked by an inspiring holistic medicine class taught by Walter Orion, LMFT, CA. After honing his skills in various settings, he studied the ancient Hawaiian practice of Lomi Lomi A'e (walking) under Kapono Souza and learned La'au 'iwi (bone setting) from Kevin Kishida on Oahu starting in the Fall of 2020. Now based in Mokulē'ia, Hawaii, Mike blends traditional la'au 'iwi with techniques like fire cupping and reflexology, bringing twelve years of massage therapy experience into his practice.
