Bio: Derek spent 15 years writing compilers to process the code that developers wrote, and then another 10 years working in source code analysis trying to figure out what they meant to write. His latest book Evidence-based software engineering"

Apurva Akochar - (Associate Director of Engineering at Simple Machines)
Presentation Title: Ktor: A Mindset Change Beyond Spring
Bio: Apurva is the Associate Director of Engineering at Simple Machines, with extensive experience in Kotlin across diverse domains like IoT, Banking, Telecommunications, and Airlines. Her global career spans Austria, the UAE, the UK, Germany, and Portugal. Passionate about scalable solutions, she enjoys collaborating with teams to transform ideas into robust software.

Recently, she’s been exploring Ktor to push the boundaries of Kotlin beyond traditional uses. As a strong advocate for enhancing developer experience, Apurva is committed to creating efficient and enjoyable development environments.

Albert Latacz - (Partner at Clockwork and Lead Software Engineer)
Presentation Title: Shift-Left Kotlin - Towards sooner feedback
Bio: An engineering lead with a hands-on approach and a track record in building reliable software systems in banking, media and retail industries. Albert focuses on lean, incremental development, pragmatic programming, and delivering value without sacrificing quality. Recently, he has been passionate about mono-repositories and enhancing developer experience. Albert co-founded Monopolis, an Internal Developer Portal SaaS, to automate best practices and boost productivity for teams and organizations.

Aya Stead (Software Developer @ Softwire)
Presentation Title: Kotlin as a teaching language
Bio: I’m Aya, a Software Developer at Softwire with a passion for writing fun projects and solving interesting problems. With an interest in neurodiversity in tech, and better ways we can teach developers, I care about creating an inclusive and accessible industry to help new developers get started.

Franck Rasolo (Founding Partner at Clockwork / Principal Consultant at Typesafe Solutions)

Presentation Title: Enforcing software architecture rules in Kotlin: going from ArchUnit to Konsist.
Bio: Franck Rasolo is a hands-on software architect, engineer, and mentor with well over two decades of experience delivering reliable, repeatable, observable infrastructure and software systems to end users like clockwork using engineering discipline, extreme Programming practices, and much software automation.
