Who Should SASS Marry?

The Department of Home Affairs designates SASS Marriage Officers to marry members of our "Congregation". We interpret that as meaning "(paying) SASS Members". Even if they are only fleetingly a member, members are expected to subscribe to the SASS Mission Statement, which includes the Naturalistic Worldview.

The Naturalistic Worldview supports atheism, agnosticism, non-theism, freethought, “Brights”, and humanism. We would therefore not be open to marrying people of different faiths or the "spiritual but not religious".

Or should we?
