Winter Reading Circle | Reading Urdu Afsanay (Short Stories)

Calling all Hindi and Urdu speakers in Brussels! 🌿
We’re hosting a cozy winter afsāna reading circle this Saturday; an afternoon of storytelling, conversation, and community.
It is free to attend and all levels are welcome. Feel free to join and bring friends! ✨
Venue is the basement of The Unusual Cafe, Rue Montagne aux Herbes Potagères 49, 1000 Bruxelles

We’ve shortlisted the following afsānay:

1. Toba Tek Singh, Saadat Hasan Manto
2. Eidgah, Premchand
3. Samandar Ki Chori, Asif Farrukhi
   Depending on time, we’ll see how many we can read together; two or more!
   A small request: our room booking officially starts at 2:00PM, so we will begin sharp at 2. I really encourage everyone to arrive by 1:45 PM so you don’t miss anything and we can settle in smoothly☺️
   The afsānay are in Urdu/Hindi, but please feel free to bring along anyone who might enjoy listening; we’ll read together and pause for explanations or clarifications as needed.
   Also, the café is known for having some of the best hot chocolates and pastry in Brussels, so do feel free to treat yourself to something warm when you arrive. Our booking works on a consumables basis, so every little order helps, and adds to the cozy winter vibe too hehe ☕️🧁
   Our reserved space downstairs is available until 3:30 PM, and after that we can move upstairs and continue as we like. Looking forward to seeing you all and reading together ✨
