What we’re about

### 🙏 For Christian Women

Finding like-minded women in Austin can feel rare — but you’re not alone. This is a monthly women’s circle for Christian women to gather during the new moon for connection, encouragement, and rest.

### 🌑 The History of the Red Tent & New Moon Gatherings

The idea of the Red Tent Ceremony comes from ancient traditions where women would gather together during their menstrual cycles — which often synced with the new moon — to rest, reflect, and support each other. The concept is inspired in part by the biblical story of Dinah in the Book of Genesis, and was later reimagined in Anita Diamant’s novel The Red Tent, which highlighted a sacred space where women could retreat together in rhythm with nature and their bodies.

In many cultures, the new moon has long been seen as a time of renewal, reflection, and setting intentions — a quiet, inward phase of the lunar cycle. Women would often use this time to connect with their intuition, share stories, seek wisdom from one another, and attune themselves to the natural cycles of life.

These gatherings weren’t just about rest — they were about community, empowerment, and spiritual connection.

While modern Red Tent circles have taken on many forms — some more spiritual or mystical than others — at their core, they represent a return to intentional, sacred community among women.
