NLP Technology for Enterprise Legal Applications

NLP Technology for Enterprise Legal Applications

Details

Emad Elwany, CTO and co-founder of Lexion, presents online on April 19, 2023 on NLP Technology for Enterprise Legal Applications.

Abstract: With the recent advances in Natural Language Processing, in particular large language models and weak supervision, the technology plays a prominent role in LegalTech, especially within enterprise applications. NLP can be applied to a wide range of business tasks, for instance document understanding has proven to be incredibly valuable for the understanding of legal agreements and converting contracts to structured information. Generative models have also been applied very successfully to tasks like contract generation and redlining. Applying these technologies successfully in critical enterprise applications requires both a deep understanding of the legal domain as well as a big investment in NLP modeling and tooling. This presentation covers some of the experience of the Lexion team and a dive into some of the tooling that is needed to solve high value problems for legal teams.
