South Bay Writers host author and journalist Martha Engber during the group’s monthly general meeting. Engber, author of “Growing Great Characters From the Ground Up: A Thorough Primer for Writers of Fiction and Nonfiction”, will teach how to develop believable, complex characters.

Dinner begins at 6 pm, followed by general meeting announcements. Speaker lecture begins between 7:30 and 8 pm. Door fee: $15 ($10 may be applied to your meal).

Guests are welcome and encouraged.

About the Author: Martha Engber's literary novel, “The Wind Thief”, was awarded a 5-star "original and highly recommended" rating from the Midwest Book Review. A journalist by profession, Engber has interviewed former First Lady of the Philippines Imelda Marcos, Apollo 13 astronaut James Lovell, and actress Marlo Thomas, among others. She is a workshop facilitator, lecturer and book editor. Engber had a full-length play produced in Hollywood. Her poetry and fiction have appeared in Watchword, Iconoclast, Bookpress, and the Berkeley Fiction Review, among other literary journals.
