Falls are a leading cause of injury among older adults, but many don't realize that adequate vitamin D levels play a crucial role in fall prevention. This essential virtual workshop educates older adults and caregivers about the vital connection between vitamin D deficiency and increased fall risk, providing evidence-based strategies for maintaining bone health and stability.
Participants will learn how vitamin D supports muscle strength, balance, and bone density—all critical factors in preventing dangerous falls. The session addresses common misconceptions about vitamin D, explores natural and supplemental sources, and discusses safe sun exposure practices for seniors.
Caregivers will gain valuable insights into recognizing vitamin D deficiency symptoms and supporting their loved ones' nutritional needs. This comprehensive workshop combines medical knowledge with practical applications, empowering participants to take proactive steps toward reducing fall risk through proper vitamin D management and complementary safety strategies.
