Come join us as we see take a scenic ferry ride to Galiano Island, the gem of the Gulf Islands. We will then walk off the ferry and hike up to Bluff Park and Mt Galiano, where on a clear day you will have breathtaking views of the other Gulf Islands! Afterwards, we will head back to the beaches, shops, and restaurants near Sturdies Bay, which you can explore on foot. Or, if there is enough time, we can go to the Hummingbird Inn and sit outside on the patio. (We will not have any vehicle on the island.)

OVERVIEW OF HIKE
We start by boarding the 820AM ferry in Tsawwassen. Please leave enough time to find parking at the ferry terminal as we have to be at the departure area at least 10 minutes before. The ferry ride is about an hour long and you will have great views of the Strait of Georgia and other scenery in the area. Upon arriving at Galiano Island, we will walk off the ferry and hike up to Bluff Park, where you may be able to see some whales.
We then head on up to Mt. Galiano. At 311 metres high (1,000 feet), Mt Galiano is the highest point on the island and offers superb views of the southern Gulf Islands. After having lunch at the top, we will head down and walk back to Sturdies Bay. You will then be able to explore the island until we board the ferry back to the mainland. Maybe check out one of the beaches in the area. Galiano Island also has a large variety of animals and plants. A major flight path for migrating birds, you will have the opportunity to see eagles and herons, among hundreds of other bird species.
We will then take the 515 PM ferry back to the mainland.
