This fantastic 8 week beginners evening potter's wheel course is one of our most popular courses. The course runs for 7 consecutive weeks followed by a 2 and a quarter hour glaze session a few weeks later. It teaches you the technique of throwing and how to glaze. This is one of the best groundings you will get in a beginners throwing course. It is for adults 18 and over only.
In a small group of a max of 4 students you will get a lot of one on one tuition.
It covers learning to centre, throwing bowls and cylinders and turning bases on the wheel. After your work has been fired you come back and glaze it all.
All your materials and firings are included in the cost. We supply all equipment and aprons.
Please note that throwing on the wheel is quite physically demanding. If you have any doubts as to whether it is right for you please get in touch before booking.
Cost: £295 inclusive all materials and firings.
Dates: Monday June 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, July 7th & 14th + 2 & a quarter hour glazing session on Monday July 28th 11am-1.15pm once all your work has been fired.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS: If you have any medical conditions that may
impede your learning such as back problems, problems with hands or
knees, any sight issues or balance issues it's advisable that you let us
know in advance, preferably before booking. Some conditions can make
it difficult to do pottery and void our insurance.
PREGNANCY: Please note that this course is not suitable for
pregnant women as there are health implications.
REFUNDS: *Please note that if you cancel 15 full working days in advance then you will get a full refund. After this period and before the course starts you will only get a 50% refund if someone else can be found to replace you. There are no refunds after the start of your course. Please note that all refunds are minus Eventbrite fees which are non-refunadable. Cancellations may be subject to an admin fee of £50. There are no transfers to another date for this course. Please note that if you miss a class and would like to do a catch-up class, these are normally done on a Saturday morning and costs £60.
Please note that we are unable to offer refunds within the 15 working days notice period if you are having to self-isolate. If you have to self-isolate during the course, we are sorry but we cannot offer catch-up classes for this course. If you have tested positive for Covid-19 please get in touch with us immediately.
