South Florida Jubilee, a Sweet Adelines chorus, invites all women in our Meetup group to join our meeting on Thursdays at 7:15 p.m. We enjoy blending our voices in 4-part harmony as we sing a cappella in barbershop style.
Each Thursday, we begin our meeting with gentle stretches, a little dancing, to prepare our bodies for singing. Next we warm up our voices with fun exercises designed to sharpen our brains and vocal quality led by our Director, James Kastler. Then, we dive into singing the songs in our repertoire and learning new songs!
Each month, the chorus social team plans an event outside of our Thursday Meetup. Sometimes it's something simple like gathering at a place for appetizers, other times it's attending a concert. In our chorus, birthdays are celebrated each month. We also have a bimonthly newsletter, Jubilee Jabber, where our members contribute articles for interest and education.
This friendly group of women enjoy each other's company not only on Thursday nights, but at every opportunity to share the love of singing in the community. The chorus often sings for events, including nursing homes and assisted living homes for veterans.
