Here is an abstract:
Every business is a software business. To stay competitive, teams need a reliable and safe way to deliver value to customers as quickly as the business demands. But how do you reduce risk when continuously deploying change?
Chef's workflow has been developed based on industry best practices around DevOps, and their latest product, Chef Delivery, promotes adoption of this proven workflow. Join Thomas Petchel, Technical Content Lead at Chef, on an introductory tour of Chef and Chef Delivery. In this interactive session, you'll help build an automation solution that spans the entire lifecycle of a change, from local development on a workstation through deployment to production.
Here is Thomas's bio:
Thomas Petchel is a Technical Content Lead and Principal at Chef. Before joining Chef, Thomas worked as a software developer in the online gaming space. Most recently, Thomas worked as a senior content developer in Microsoft's Visual Studio group, where he crafted technical content and sample code to support Visual C++ and Microsoft .NET developers. As a reforming "toss it over the wall; ops will handle it" software developer, Thomas loves the way DevOps is changing the way technology professionals work together to build better things safely and at greater speed.
Thomas recently removed from Seattle to Sarasota, where he lives with his wife and two young daughters.
