Snorkel Ocean Inlet Park Boynton Beach

Details
Snorkeling Details: We'll meet at 8:55 am and enter the ocean at 9:00 am.
Please carpool if possible as parking has been limited on Sunday mornings.
A go/no go will be posted and emailed out by 8:!0 am based on weather and the visibility report.
The reef at Ocean Inlet Park in Boynton Beach is an artificial reef constructed of giant boulders. This mitigation reef was a 5-month project that was completed in January 2010. The reef sits in 6 to 12 feet of water. We will enter the ocean in front of the sign indicating the end of the life guard area. This will allow us to tell where the current is coming from, while not over shooting the reef. From the beach and while in the water, you are able to see the dark areas in the ocean which is the reef. You may see Turtles, Yellow Rays, Southern Stingrays, Eels, Nurse Sharks, Sergeant Majors, Stonefish, Porcupine Fish, Grunts, and Octopus.
CAUTION: Do not swim around the jetty! You and your buddies MUST use a dive flag when snorkeling at this location. If you do not have one you must buddy up with someone that does.
Where to Meet: We'll be on the beach to the South by the discharge pipe.
Directions: From I95, take exit 57, West Boynton Beach Blvd., east. Make a right on to Federal Highway. Make a Left onto East Ocean Ave. Then Make a left onto A1A / North Ocean Blvd. Drive north for about 1.5 miles and make a left into the Ocean Inlet Park’s FREE parking lot (before you reach the inlet).
Things to Wear/Bring: Bathing suit, snorkeling gear (mask/snorkel/fins), mask defog, sunscreen, snacks, drinks, (no Styrofoam or glass containers allowed), waterproof camera, water, towel, a change of clothes, and you must bring a dive flag to this reef!
No/Go Decision: We'll make the no/go decision around 8:10 am based on the reef/radar conditions. Please be sure to check the meetup site before leaving as the notification emails are often delayed. We'll meet at the Discharge pipe to the South (right) when you cross the road and enter the Beach. If you need to reach me, text or call Craig 561-573-6516 or email me at craig@tropicalhome.tv
