Snorkeling Details:
First - There is limited parking. PLEASE CARPOOL IF POSSIBLE
Second - the Go/No Go will be posted between 7:55 and 8:10 (at the latest) please check before you leave to attend the event.

We'll meet at 9:15am and enter the ocean at 9:20am. We'll spend most of the time on the artificial reef, about 325 feet off shore and running from right in front of the sign indicating the end of the swim area of South Inlet Park (http://sinkfloridasink.com/south-florida-dive-sites/south-florida-beach-dives/south-inlet-park-boca-raton-snorkeling-beach-dive-site/), going south. It’s about 10-15’ deep. We’ll also explore some of the sea grass areas for turtles. We'll see Sergeant Majors, Trumpetfish, Cowfish, Blueheads, Pufferfish, Parrotfish, French Angelfish, Flounder, Eel, Small Sea Snakes, Squid, Octopus, Spotted Eagle Rays, Fire Coral. CAUTION: Do not swim around the jetty! You or your buddies MUST use a dive flag when snorkeling at South Inlet Park.

Note to Beginners and First-Timers: Do yourself a favor and complete a gear check and some practice in the pool before going to the beach. The surf and current can be a challenge to some, and you'll have a much better time if you prepare in advance. If you have a brand new mask make sure to scrub the inside of your mask glass with toothpaste before you bring it to the beach.

Where to Meet: I'll be on the beach with my blue blankets, just south of the sign indicating the end of the swim area.

Directions: From I-95, take Hillsboro Blvd. (exit 42A) east. Make a left onto NE 20th Ave. Follow the road to the right and then make a left onto NE 21st Ave. / A1A / N. Ocean Blvd. You will take this road for about 1.5 miles. South Inlet Park will be on your right.

Parking Lot: (~$3/hr) Accepts Cash, Visa, Discover, Master Card.

Things to Wear/Bring: Bathing suit, snorkeling gear (mask/snorkel/fins), mask defog, sunscreen, snacks, drinks, (no Styrofoam or glass containers allowed), waterproof camera, water, towel, a change of clothes, floaties/vests if you need them, and bring a dive flag if you have one!

No/Go Decision: We'll make the no/go decision before 8:15 am based on the reef/radar conditions. Please be sure to check the meetup site before leaving as the notification emails are often delayed. If you need to reach me, call my cell 561-573-6516.
