Greetings!
This is our first STEAM/STEM meeting in a planned series of meetups and workshops devoted to learning the principles that act as the underpinning of coding.
The languages we will be covering during this series of meetups will be:
Java
JavaScript
Python
Scratch
Some of the topics that we'll be covering during the series include:
Syntax
Binary/Hexadecimal
Variables
Loops
Operators
Control Statements
Algorithms
Functions
For THIS particular meetup we will be examining the principles using JavaScript. This particular meetup is a "get your feet wet" first event and is free. This is a BEGINNER'S meetup.
BYOD - "Bring Your Own Device" - You must bring a laptop (preferred) or tablet capable of accessing the library's wifi to get the most out of this meeting.
This meetup is aimed at all ages: 10 to 100.
If your child is interested in programming and programming concepts, bring them.
There is a limit of 25 people due to room size.
