What we’re about
Welcome to Samadhi! We aim to introduce people to meditation and mindfulness, and to help them integrate these practices into their daily life. Everyone is welcome to join our sessions!
We engage in various meditations from the Buddhist and other contemplative traditions. Drawing on the practical experience of meditation, psychology, and Buddhist wisdom, we look at insights, teachings and new ways of thinking which help us unwind, relax, let go of things like stress and anxiety, and cultivate positive minds such as patience, compassion, and equanimity.
With a regular meditation practice, you will gain greater and greater peace of mind and discover a more positive approach to life, as well as improved levels of emotional and mental health. Meditation has numerous benefits for the health of both your body and mind, is easy to do, and something everyone can learn.
"Since nearly everyone living in the modern world is coping with an overload of thinking, remembering, and planning this may be just what the doctor ordered: a general prescription for soothing and healing overworked bodies and minds." – B. Alan Wallac
In today’s fast-paced world, stress and burnout have become all too familiar. So, how can we find peace and balance amidst life’s demands?
Join visiting meditation teacher, David Oromith, for an engaging and practical talk on handling stress and burnout.
Drawing on Buddhist psychology, insights from working in mental health services, and his own journey through depression, anxiety, and burnout, David will share:
- why the modern stress-cycle is so relentless – and what breaks it
- the three layers of burnout – and ways to heal them
- quick resets you can use at your desk or on the train
- how acceptance and self-kindness help you bounce back when things go wrong
David guides with warmth, humour, and the disarming honesty of someone who’s walking this path himself. There’s no jargon and no pressure to “be spiritual” – just practical ideas you can start using straight away.
Who’s it for? Absolutely anyone. Whether you’ve never tried meditation or you already practise every day, you’re welcome.
Come for friendly conversation, fresh perspective, and a cuppa. Leave with methods for a calmer, more balanced life.

This Module is part of The Buddha’s Path (our foundational study programme) and explores sustainable foundations for “walking the path” with continuity and ever-deepening development.
Over four linked talks, we will look at how to lean on others and how to lean on ourselves. First, the support and accountability that good spiritual friends provide; second, the inner self-reliance needed to carry the path in daily life; third, skilful relationships with teachers and tradition; and finally, cultivating a spacious, non-sectarian outlook.
Week 1 – “Refuge in Good Company: Why Sangha Is the Whole of the Path”
Exploring the “whole of the spiritual life” according to the Buddha: good friendship. Discussions around why the Buddha placed such weight on community and how to lean on one another wisely while guarding against group-think, sectarianism, or exclusion.Week 2 – “Applying the Path Where You Are”
We look to where the path is walked: commutes, queues, emails, family dramas. Practical ways to rely upon oneself as we weave the teachings and practice into ordinary daily life.Week 3 – “Guidance & Grace: Teachers, Etiquette, and Devotion with Discernment”
How to relate skilfully to teachers and dharma settings according to the different levels of practice. Covers common etiquette in the Buddhist tradition, plus healthy boundaries and red-flag awareness.Week 4 – “Many Rivers, One Ocean: A Non-Sectarian Approach to Dharma”
How to honour and get the best out of multiple lineages without confusion or cherry-picking. Explores the Rimé spirit, dialogue across traditions, and following a coherent path that remains open, humble, and responsive to a changing world.Booking & Donation:
