An economy that is not built by us, will be built against us.* As we witness the natural consequences of unbridled capitalism—including worsening climate change, an ongoing pandemic, and genocide— we must double down on alternative models that protect life and the planet, challenge the capitalist economic order and build outside of it.
Join us on Thursday, October 24 at 3 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. CT / 6 p.m. ET for our Solidarity Economies 101 workshop! Together, we will learn about solidarity economy values, practices, & community-based strategies that provide real alternatives to racial capitalism. Specifically, we will engage in conversation about:
- What do we mean by “economy”? What are solidarity economies?
- How do we build an economy and culture of solidarity beyond capitalism? How are communities building from the bottom-up and outside of capitalism?
- How can you connect and build upon the economic practices of cooperation and solidarity that already exist?
