Chinese New Year 2024 - Lion Dance Parade

Details

Gong Hat Fat Choy! (bonus points to those who know what that means)

It's the year of the dragon. Come celebrate with the annual Chinese New Year Lion Dance Parade. Unlike other parades, you don't wait in one spot for this one to pass you by. Instead, you walk with it as they cover all of Chinatown. You'll get images of the Lions/Dragons dancing in the streets, fire crackers going off, a martial arts demonstration, and lots of interesting faces in the crowd.

I strongly suggest taking the speedline (get off at 8th and market, then walk up to Chinatown)

I also recommend some disposable ear plugs.

In case you're late, the parade will start on 10th Street, north of Race St, and head south to Race, down race to 9th... After that just follow your ears and you'll find it.
