Fall Foliage Weekend in the Poconos with .38 Special
Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway: Trademark of the Reading & Northern Railroad, 1 Susquehanna St, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229, USA, Jim Thorpe, PA, USThis is the time of year to witness the most beautiful Fall Foliage, and there's no better place to see it in the tri-state area, than the Lehigh Valley BY TRAIN. We'll ride the train from Jim Thorpe up the Lehigh River and back (45 minutes round trip) to Jim Thorpe for lunch at Molly Maguire's.
You can drive up for the day, or stay with us at the Comfort Inn - Whitehaven ($127/room/night) for the weekend and see a live concert on Friday by the band .38 Special at Penn's Peak (8pm).
Saturday is the train ride ($25-28/person), lunch at Molly Maguire's, shopping and sightseeing, and a concert by a Bon Jovi Tribute band (optional). We'll take the 11:00 AM train on October 3rd (go to the Autumn Leaf Train option on the website for tickets). Go to: www.lgsry.com/autumn-leaf-2026.**
Sunday you can either join us for a bike ride down the Lehigh Gorge, tour the prison in town, more shopping or sightseeing, and head home at your leisure.
Carpooling is available Friday afternoon from Cherry Hill area at 3:45pm.
