7 1/2 miles circular: Winter Hill, Yarrow Reservoir from Rivington Country Park

The route will takes us along Rivington and Yarrow Reservoirs, then up to Winter Hill, past numerous radio towers and the memorial to the 1958 air crash, before descending to Rivington Pike and then back to the start.

The intention is to offer car shares from The Metropolitan in West Didsbury from 11am. I can offer three seats but if you have a vehicle which can offer more or would like a lift, post below. Meet close to the car park entrance.

We'll set off from outside the Rivington Visitor's Centre at 12:00 promptly. I'll bring a South Manchester Social sign, so look out for that.

Terrain will be fine if they can manage the distance but all dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

I've done bits of these trails before but about 10 years ago. Backtracking may be involved. It'll be an adventure! I am not a professional guide. I'm just going for a walk and wondered if anyone would like to join me. All parts of the trails conform to public rights of way detailed by OS Maps.
