Walk followed by Fireworks at Buxton Opera House
Details
You will need to buy a ticket for the fireworks here. Check back on the morning of the event just to make sure everything is ok!
Likely route will be posted closer to the time. You can see the weather here. The walk will be 5-6 miles and short, so we will be finished with enough time to get some food before the fireworks and other festivities start.
The itinerary for the fireworks event is:
4pm: gates open
4pm - 5pm: happy hour! All fairground rides £2.50
5.10pm - 5.30pm: World Record breaking juggler, Chris Marley
5.40pm: children's fireworks display
6pm - 6.20pm: World Record breaking juggler, Chris Marley
6.30pm: amazing aerial drone show
7.20pm: main spectacular fireworks display
The intention is to offer car shares from The Metropolitan in West Didsbury from 11am. I can offer three seats but if you have a vehicle which can offer more or would like a lift, post below. Meet close to the car park entrance.
You can also get there by train, 1045 from Manchester Piccadilly, £5 with the return train at 20:57.
We'll set off for the walk from outside Buxton Station at 12:00 promptly. I'll bring a sign which says "Julian's Social Hike", so look out for that.
If you'd like to meet for the fireworks only, meet us around 4pm near the Lonestar Mexican Restaurant. You can call me on 07838 119 330 if you can't find us.
I may update this description to include more information as we get closer to the time. Message us on meetup to get an invite to the walking Whatsapp.
Dogs are welcome for the walk if kept on a lead at all times, however they may get spooked by the fireworks.
I've done bits of these trails before but about 15 years ago. Backtracking may be involved. It'll be an adventure! I am not a professional guide. I'm just going for a walk and wondered if anyone would like to join me. All parts of the trails conform to public rights of way detailed by OS Maps.
