Greetings,

It is perhaps no secret that the inexhaustible source of our discussion topics comes from none other than ourselves—our experiences in this world and the small, often unnoticed fragments that shape our everyday lives. In this regard, hope is much like those subtle fragments: something bestowed upon the soul, quiet yet irreplaceable.

We hope that the bus arrives on time, that the weather this weekend will be good, and that our family and loved ones remain healthy and stay with us for many many years to come.

And yet, perhaps we must also learn to create some distance from our hopes so as to ensure a healthy balance and the opportunity to grow—even if doing so may feel as painful and heartbreaking as tearing a crying baby from a mother’s arms.
