Can You Walk Along the Same Han River Twice?_III
Details
“No man ever steps in the same river twice.”
[Heraclitus]
Greetings,
Have you walked along the Han River before? It is a charming place to visit from time to time in my opinion.
As a matter of fact, it runs through the heart of Seoul, and stretches up to
1.2 km wide at its broadest point in Seoul, making it roughly 5 to 6 times wider than the Seine in Paris or the Thames in London. It has shaped trade, defence, and agriculture throughout history, and it became tied to the idea of the “Miracle on the Han River,” Korea’s rapid modernisation after the war.
That's enough syncing with Han River in a nominal and representational sense. But more importantly, what is our empirical sense of Han River? That is, an emotional bond with the place and our lived experience of the Han River? Don't recall any?
Come along, and let's share our own answers and, most importantly, let's walk along the Han River once again.
-Questions-
- Can you walk along the same Han River twice?
- Do you know why the Han River is the king of all the rivers in Korea?
- Along the Han River, the water never stops flowing.
What passes is never returned. What does it remind us of about life?
**** Let's stroll around (Nodeul Island, 노들섬) so we shall meet at Dongjak Station, Exit 1. This time. ****
