What we’re about
Do you want to get out and have fun? Are you in your 40's ... 50's ... 60's ... don't feel your age and still love life?
This is a group for friendly and respectful individuals to enjoy a variety of social activities and events together.
We have events such as trivia nights, shows and exhibitions, live music and dancing, movies, theatre, walks, value meals out and the occasional indulgence.
Most events will be within the region marked on the attached map, although at times we will venture further afield. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1syIEtnei64r2VLTm-geLC5905BQNdw3Q/
You are requested to have a clear, recent head or head and shoulders photograph as your profile picture so that we can all recognise you at events, and to use a name that people can use to address you.
As a courtesy to other attendees, would-be attendees, organisers and venues, you are asked to keep your RSVP up to date at all times. Being on the waiting list is considered to mean you are available and intending to attend if a position becomes available at any time.
There is an annual membership fee to cover some of the large fee Meetup now charges group organisers.
Annual membership is $6, payable by 1 September each year for the following year to 31 August. Payment details will be provided on joining.
After attending three events as a "+1", guests of members will be asked to become financial members before attending further events. Note that some events, especially those with very limited capacity, will be restricted to members only.
Please note this is not a dating group. Respectful behaviour is expected at all times. Abusive, aggressive or harassing behaviour will not be tolerated.

"It's classical piano, presented with jokes by a bald dickhead with a beard."
This event at the Comedy Republic Bar in Bourke St is part of the Replay Festival which reprises shows from the recent Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Aidan Jones presents an unusual brand of comedy, taking classical music and using it as a framework for some great laughs.
I saw a sample of his show at the Comic's Lounge recently and want to see the whole show.
The Plan:
Seating is first in, best seats. Buy your own ticket and meet in the bar by 5:45 pm when doors to the show open.
We should be able to get seats together if we go in as a group.
Show starts at 6pm and runs for 60 minutesAfterwards we can find somewhere nearby for a casual meal.
