Join the South West London Social Club for an effortless mindfulness experience.
All levels of meditation experience are welcome.
Set within the ancient surroundings of St Mary's Church, take time away from the busyness of every day life to relax, refresh and recharge.
Please note, despite the church location, this a secular event!
Whilst this is a free event, if you would like to donate, this will allow Mark to put on more events in the future. The donation amount is open, simply pay what you feel the event is worth, or what you feel you can afford.
Effortless Mindfulness allows you to discover awake awareness as the source of intelligence, compassion, and flow to improve overall well-being and to increase loving and respectful relationships with others
About the host
Previously, Mark worked for the NHS, helping people with serious mental illness in southwest London into employment as part of their recovery.
Overall, he worked and volunteered in mental health wellbeing and healthcare for ten years, from 2015-2025. There is more information about his career on his LinkedIn profile.
He has been practicing meditation and mindfulness for over ten years.
As part of this practice, he has taken several foundational mindfulness courses from the Mindfulness Association and the Effortless Mindfulness Institute, This started Mark on the pathway to becoming a mindfulness teacher.
This included completing the ‘Mindfulness Based Living Course (MBLC)’, an 8-week programme developed by the Mindfulness Association, which forms the first step to becoming a BAMBA (The British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches) accredited mindfulness teacher.
He is looking to share his practice with others and is currently studying the Effortless Mindfulness Institute 3-course training series with the view to becoming a fully certified mindfulness facilitator by January 2026.
Previously, he shared his mindfulness practice online via Meetup groups, and so is looking forward to the opportunity to share his knowledge and teaching in person.

What makes Effortless Mindfulness different from other mindfulness approaches + psychological interventions?
✔️ Designed for the modern human Effortless Mindfulness is a unique methodology that synthesizes ancient wisdom practices, neuroscience, and contemporary psychology. This distinct synthesis is designed to help you get the most out of mindfulness in our modern world (even if you’re busy, struggle with focus, or wear many hats in your life).
✔️ An effortless path to greater peace, clarity, and calm With Effortless Mindfulness, the focus is not on developing the skill of mental stability or concentration (which is the defining feature of most mainstream mindfulness systems). Instead, you’re shifting OUT of an unstable stage of adult development into an already present calm, clear, and knowing awareness. Through Effortless Mindfulness, this free and flowing awareness becomes your new foundation for living more skilfully.
✔️ A system for greater resilience This original approach to healing, growth, and development helps you unplug and hit refresh on your inner operating system. Doing this consistently actually helps your system function more optimally for the long term. It endows you with the resilience to embrace life’s joys and challenges with enduring balance.
✔️ Address the root issues This practice style is about familiarizing yourself with a new stage of human development. You are updating your entire operating system, so the repetitive and stuck patterns that play out in that system start to shift or dissolve. If you’ve had a hard time deepening your meditation practice, we think you’ll love this feature of Effortless Mindfulness.
✔️ Stop trying so hard We invite you to stop ‘focusing more,’ and tap into effortless awareness. Thousands of our students enjoy deep and transformative daily meditation practice, as well as higher levels of compassion, calm, and clarity…more often and without as much effort.
