Revisit this great annual festival held on the first Sunday in August, in memory of Neil. 'Trout 'n' About' is a festival in the beautiful Hampshire town of Stockbridge. The main street is blocked off, and it's full of over 100 stalls selling local food, produce and crafts, attracting thousands of tourists every year. There are also loads of knick-knack shops, cafes, and pubs. Meet at the front of the White Hart, High Street, Stockbridge SO20 6HF at 11.00 for 11.30. It's on the roundabout joining the A3057 the A30, and the B3049. Make sure you come from this direction as the main high street is blocked off. It will be busy, but you can park by the side of the road, on the roundabout or in a marked field, paying £5.
Just make sure you are not in a private parking space / blocking someone's drive. No traffic wardens here!
We will walk through the hustle and bustle of the high street, staying on the same side of the street as the White Hart, to the peace and tranquillity of the meadows and river walk. After the walk, we will return to the High Street, and we will go to Meadow at 9 High Street.
SO20 6EX, the cafe for cakes and light meals. Milo's art gallery, called 'Mylo', is above this cafe. It's on the same side of the street as St Peter's church, just a bit further up the street. After we can wander around the stalls and agree on a time to meet outside the White Hart to say
"au revoir". Approx 4-mile walk. As it's in August, light walking shoes or trainers should be ok even in the meadows as they are dry in the summer. No need to pre-order food, as it depends on how busy Meadow is and if you want to buy from the stalls. There is also a nice cafe/pub on the opposite side of the street, as Meadow called 'The Test'.
