National Garden Scheme Gardens Stockbridge

Four gardens will open this year in Stockbridge as part of the National Garden Scheme. Entry is £10 for all 4 gardens, with money going to various good causes.
We will buy tickets on the day.
Meet for 1.00pm prompt start outside the Grosvenor Hotel on the High Street. Parking is limited in Stockbridge so please allow time to find a space and consider car sharing.
The gardens offer a variety of styles and character. Trout Cottage is a small walled garden, inspiring those with small spaces and little time to achieve tranquillity and beauty. Full of approx 180 plants flowering for almost 10 months of the yr. The Old Rectory has a partially walled garden with formal pond, fountain and planting near the house (not open) with a stream-side walk under trees, newly planted rose garden and a woodland area. Shepherds House on Winton Hill with herbaceous borders, a kitchen garden and a belvedere overlooking the pond. Fishmore House is a 7 yr old garden on a ¾ acre plot. The key elements of design being planting, water and a borrowed landscape. Designed for accessibility incorporating bound gravel paths and no steps. Surrounded by the River Test with seating available to enjoy the views and large, sweeping herbaceous borders. Wheelchair access to all gardens.
Three of the gardens are along the High Street, and the 4th is 15 minutes (0.6miles) walk away so estimate will be around 2 miles of walking on mainly pavements/pathways.
Afterwards we can enjoy some refreshment in one of the many cafes/pubs.
