Stroll Round Bitterne Riverside Park

Details
Meet at 12:15 for a 12:30 start at Mansbridge Reservoir car park on Mansbridge Road. We’ll leave the car park across the open ground, underneath the A27 and then cross the foot bridge over the River Itchen to Riverside Park. From here the pathway takes us along the river past tennis courts, the skate park and recreation areas to the Riverside Park Railway. Here we will leave the park briefly to find a coffee in one of the local cafes (TBC) before returning to the park to take a slightly different route for the return journey. Walking through the park again back to Woodmill Lane where we cross the River Itchen and along the road before turning left into St Mary’s Church Close and walking along Monks Brook back to our start point. The walk is around 3.5 miles on flat, mainly gravel paths. Afterwards I think a Sunday lunch might be called for so we’ll hop in the cars and head not far away to the Fleming Arms on Wide Lane SO18 2QN back along Mansbridge Road. This is a Hungry Horse pub so I’m sure the portions will be adequate for most. I’ll book a table for 3.30pm for six people to start with, so please indicate if you would like to take up. https://www.hungryhorse.co.uk/pubs/hampshire/fleming-arms/menu?type=sunday+roast+%26+drink§ion=sunday+roast+%26+drink+from+%c2%a311 Any problems I can be contacted on 07957 835454. Hope to see you there. Neil
