Let's have a day out in Salisbury & visit the market - new date
Details
Let's meet up in Salisbury for a look around the vibrant market and also a few local shops, including the department store Bradbeers.
Let's meet for coffee in award winning Fisherton Mill coffee shop around 11am https://fishertonmill.co.uk/the-cafe/ first - it's only a short walk from the railway station in Salisbury or the carpark behind Sainsbury's and then enjoy a leisurely walk along Fisherton Street to the city centre where the market is held. The Mill itself is full of various craft studios and the shop on the ground floor has an amazing array of indivudually designed items for sale. There are various individual shops and also charity shops on the way into the city centre.
If you are interested in sewing, fabrics, haberdashery and crafting, then it's a good idea to pop into https://www.franklinsgroup.com/stores/salisbury/
There is also a very good cobbler and hand bag repair shop called Mossy's in new canal street https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61577546737896
Experience centuries of market tradition at Salisbury Charter Market.
Held twice a week in the historic Market Place in Salisbury, and proudly operated by Salisbury City Council, Salisbury Charter Market is a lively retail market with roots dating back to 1227.
Browse an incredible mix of stalls offering everything from fresh meats, fish, fruit and veg, and cheeses, to clothing and accessories, flowers, collectables, and pet products.
A tempting variety of food options, including hog roast, nachos, pizza, and Thai, Indian, and South African cuisines, ensures you won’t have to worry about going hungry while you shop.
We can enjoy free time looking around the market stalls and then we can meet up in the lovely cafe in Bradbeers store for coffee and a bite to eat https://www.bradbeers.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Salisbury-Restaurant-Menu-may24.pdf as well as have a good browse in the department store. They even have a champagne bar just by the entrance! :-)
There is plenty of parking behind Sainsbury's in Salisbury . Best to use coins for the parking meters although a few meters now accept credit card payment. Put on your specs though as you need to enter your vehicle registration correctly on the meter to obtain a valid ticket. The area under cover is only for short stay - max 2 hours.
This event has been re-scheduled from 7th Feb 2026
