Would you like to study math and quantum mechanics with a group?
We are forming a group of people who want to do a serious study of math and quantum mechanics. We have selected a couple of textbooks for the effort. We’ll start with a math book designed to give us the background we need for quantum mechanics, and then we’ll switch to a quantum mechanics book. The math book we’re starting with is Introductory Functional Analysis, by Erwin Kreyszig, and the quantum mechanics book is Introduction to Quantum Mechanics, by David J. Griffiths
Currently, the plan is to collect a group of 6-8 folks and to meet one day a week at the Austin Recreation Center, near 12th Street and Lamar. We’ll help each other understand the math and physics concepts … and maybe we’ll work some problems.
