Social Dinner/Drinks in Melbourne CBD + French Film Festival Movie (Optional)

Welcome to our 37th event!

Join us for dinner or a drink at Trinket, a cozy restaurant/pizzeria/bar on Flinders Lane, followed by the viewing of "Auction" ("Le tableau volé") (2024) as part of the Alliance Française French Film Festival in Palace Kino Cinema on Collins Street. Come and meet some new or familiar faces and enjoy the evening in good company :)

We'll start with dinner/drinks and conversation at Trinket from 6.45pm and head over to Kino Cinema together after 8pm. If you're not available to stay late or for any other reason would like to join the dinner & conversation part only, you're welcome to do so. The film session starts at 8.20pm and lasts around 1.5 h.

About the film:
Inspired by incredible true events, acclaimed writer/director Pascal Bonitzer’s sharp and engrossing new social comedy follows a self-assured auctioneer whose professional and personal integrity is challenged by the discovery of a long-lost masterpiece, a painting by Egon Schiele long assumed destroyed by Nazi officials during WWII. Skilfully brought to life by an array of both endearing and duplicitous characters, the film is a thrilling exploration of the often-cynical world of art dealing and collecting. Full of intrigue, moral questions and an unpredictable turn of events, it is a sharp and elegant comedy-drama.

We've booked our seats in the middle of row D, you're welcome to book nearby. You can join the Palace Movie Club for free and the ticket will be $22.00 instead of $27.00. The online booking fee is $1.95 per ticket or you can purchase a ticket on the spot, just better complete the membership form in advance.
