Hello South Bay Gamers!

In case you didn't know.....Strategicon Gamex is just a few weeks away!

Strategicon is a set of 3 gaming cons that happen in Los Angeles every President's Day (Orccon), Memorial Day (Gamex), and Labor Day (Gateway) weekends. It happens at the Hilton on Century Blvd, near LAX. The con runs mid Friday - mid Monday, and has events for Board Gaming, RPGs, CCGs, miniatures, and much more. Don't worry about not knowing the games. All tournaments are preceded by dedicated '101' teaching sessions, and most Event GMs (Game Masters) are more than happy to teach their games to new players.

If you pre-register for your badge, you can also pre-register for individual events. Badge registration is open now, and event registration typically starts 2 weeks before the con, so expect it around Feb 1st.

Speaking of badges...

If you haven't purchased a badge yet, go to https://www.strategicon.net/?registration/, and if buying a full con, or annual pass, be sure to choose the option under the Group Discount heading and select "South Bay Gamers" from the list. They end the badge pre-registration a week (I think) before the con, and while badges at the door are available, pre-registering (particularly with a group discount) is the most economical option, which leaves more money for shopping in the Dealer Room!

(The Group Registration page says they may ask for proof of group membership, but it's rarely (if ever) an issue. If you run into any problems, contact me and I'll try to help sort it out)
