San Vicente Ranch at Calero Park
Details
The hike is 8.2 miles with 750 feet of elevation gain. Be warned that the number of bikes here could make some of the hike less pleasant. There are bathrooms at the parking lot.
Bikes must go counter clockwise on the loop so we will go clockwise, that way we see them coming. We begin with an exposed half mile of easy uphill to the junction of Cottle and Lisa Killough Trails. Cottle will take us through light forest uphill a bit and down, then past the reservoir for 2.7 miles meeting the junction of Lisa Killough trail. Next we climb an easy 2.2 miles through broken forest past the high point, stopping at Lisa's Lookout for a snack break.
After that its all downhill, above Chilanean Gulch then paralleling the Almaden-Calero Canal 2.2 miles to the junction again with Cottle Trail, for the last 0.5 miles back to the parking lot.
