Almaden Quicksilver, McAbee entrance.

Hike Description:

This hike maps at 8.5 miles but always feels longer to me. Maybe 1,200 feet elevation gain. We'll begin at the McAbee Rd trailhead, taking the Senador Mine trail to the Guadalupe trail. Then we'll take the Randol trail to Prospect #3, which connects us with the New Almaden trail (the Randol trail is sometimes closed seasonally; if so, I'll adjust the hike and it will be a little shorter but also a little more elevation gain).

Directions:

85 south to Camden Ave. Take Camden south to McAbee Rd, turning right onto McAbee. Follow it just a few blocks to the end, at Whispering Pines, and park along the neighborhood streets.
Please be quiet and respectful while parking in this residential neighborhood.
