About the park: San Bruno Mountain State and County park is home to rare and endangered species of flora, fauna, and wildlife. The park offers panoramic views to the Pacific Ocean as well as over the central bay area.

Parking: San Bruno Mountain State and County park charges a $6 fee at the entrance which can be paid via credit. Please note the park does not accept the California State Park Annual Day Use Pass.

Hike Description: We'll hike East out of the parking area and will soon find ourselves on Summit Loop trail. We'll follow Summit Loop, climbing somewhat gradually to the intersection with Ridge Trail. We'll turn right onto Ridge Trail and follow it in an Easterly direction toward San Francisco Bay.
We'll take our snack break enjoying spectacular views high above San Francisco Bay and then return on Ridge Trail to the intersection with Summit Loop, turning right to complete the "loop" of Summit Loop as we make our way back to the parking area.
Total elevation gain is about 1,700 feet. About half of that is expended during first part of hike while climbing on Summit Loop to the intersection with Ridge trails. The other half is associated with up/downs as we hike along the Ridge trail. The total hike will be 9.1 miles

Bathrooms: There are bathrooms at the parking area, but none along the rest of the hike.
