Butler Gulch features wildflowers, a waterfall, mining ruins, and a spectacular trail that rises above the treeline.
1,800 ft elevation gain to about 12,200 ft elevation, about 6.5 miles roundtrip
Level of difficulty: Moderate per Alltrails, includes a short step section.

Trailhead 7:45 a.m. We will meet at the parking area by Jones Pass Trailhead and walk up to the Butler Gulch Trailhead (about 0.2 miles).
Items to bring include: sunscreen, hat, hiking shoes, rain gear, food, and water. We'll have lunch at our destination.
