New Year's 2026 and Palmer Lake on Jan 3

We'll greet the New Year on Saturday, hiking the Palmer Lake Reservoir trail.

4.5-mile round trip - about 7200 feet to 7900 feet.

Sorry, NO DOGS are allowed on this trail since the reservoir provides water for the town of Palmer Lake.

PARKING AND LOCATION!!

We'll park at the Palmer Lake Baseball Diamond on Hwy 105. See location link. We won't park at the trailhead listed on Alltrails!!

No bathrooms at the trailhead.

Items you might bring include sunscreen, hat, hiking shoes, food, jacket, gloves, trekking poles, if you think you may need them, and plenty of water.

Weather this week is expected to be mild, but it never hurts to carry microspikes in case there are a few icy spots.
